Grants & Contracts Administration
Grants and contracts administration involves managing the entire lifecycle of funding, from initial proposal to final project closeout, ensuring compliance with regulations and efficient use of funds.
Key Responsibilities of Grants and Contracts Administration:
Pre-Award:
- Identifying funding opportunities: Researching and identifying potential funding sources.
- Developing proposals: Writing and preparing grant/contract proposals, ensuring they meet the requirements of the funding agency guidelines.
- Budgeting: Creating and managing project budgets, ensuring compliance with the funding agency guidelines.
- Negotiating: Participating in negotiations with funding agencies to secure favorable terms.
Post-Award:
- Award Acceptance and Setup: Ensuring proper acceptance of awards and setting up project accounts.
- Compliance: Maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and terms of the grant/contract.
- Financial Management: Tracking expenditures, managing budgets, and ensuring proper use of funds.
- Reporting: Preparing and submitting required reports to funding agencies.
- Project Management: Overseeing project activities, ensuring they are on track and meeting objectives.
- Closeout: Ensuring all project deliverables are completed and that the project is properly close out.
Other Important Tasks:
- Serving as a point of contact: Acting as the primary point of contact for funding agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Providing guidance: Providing guidance and support to principal investigators (PIs) and program directors.
- Ensuring Compliance: Ensuring compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Monitoring and Auditing: Monitoring project expenditures and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
- Resolving Issues: Addressing any issues or problems that arise during the grant/contract lifecycle.
